Land Information New Zealand
Geospatial Advocacy, Capability, Outreach
Wellington & Wairarapa, New Zealand
Kia ora, I’ve made working in geospatial information my profession, my role involves advocating, working with our stakeholders, and helping develop capability in a variety of areas including the social sector and have an interest in working with Iwi Māori groups.

One of my hobbies is capturing Streetview imagery, which now covers most of Lower Hutt, some of Wellington and a few other places. I've shared 600,000+ photos since October last year. Some of the images have been viewed more than 100,000 times.

I have managed many mapping projects for Iwi Maori in New Zealand supporting hearings and settlement negotiations 2002-2007, and provided about 20 project management Marae based workshops since 2012. Over the past few years I led the Geospatial shared services team at DOC. I also managed a variety of successful professional services IT projects for clients of Eagle Technology Group Ltd.

In 2007-2008, Moka Apiti and I directed capacity development programmes for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) leading 80 geographically distributed engineers working with International Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to implement enterprise information management systems in all eighteen Iraqi Provincial Councils and then I performed a similar role supporting Government Infrastructure Departments of Afghanistan in 2009/2010.

I studied Geography and Environmental Science at the University of Waikato, am PMP certified, Agile ScrumMaster, PM4DEV, and Registered Practitioner of PRINCE2, MSP, ITIL (Services) and PMD Pro level 2. I am a Judge for the 2016, 2017, 2018 Spatial Excellence Awards.
